About the role

As a People & Culture Associate, you will play a key role in building scalable and efficient people processes across Sofía. While a core responsibility will be supporting end-to-end recruitment, your impact will extend beyond hiring: you’ll help us automate and improve internal workflows, enhance the employee experience, and provide general support across the People function.

We’re constantly iterating and evolving our People & Culture practices, so we’re looking for someone who is not only passionate about attracting top talent, but also excited to bring structure, automation, and innovation to how we operate as a team. You’re proactive, tech-savvy, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
    • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for a variety of roles, from sourcing to closing.
    • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand team needs and provide a great candidate experience.
    • Help refine and scale our recruiting processes and tools.
  • Process Automation & Operational Support
    • Identify opportunities to automate manual or repetitive tasks in People Ops
    • Build and maintain automations using internal tools or integrations
    • Create documentation, templates, and dashboards that support People operations.
  • People Operations & General Support
    • Participate in culture-building initiatives and employee experience programs.
    • Assist with internal communications and other cross-functional People projects as needed.

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting, People Ops, HR generalist roles, or related fields (startups or fast-growing environments preferred).
  • Experience with process automation tools or a strong willingness to learn and implement them (e.g., Zapier, Notion automations).
  • A people-first mindset: empathetic, approachable, and proactive in understanding team needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — you bring structure to ambiguity.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally, balancing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude and a passion for creating a great employee experience.
